Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched an app for Windows 8 today.
The app developed along with Microsoft, will provide users another channel to book tickets beyond the portal. IRCTC expects the number e-ticket bookings to increase with the introduction of this app.
IRCTC Give addition options to book train E- tickets, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) along with Microsoft has developed IRCTC App for Windows 8, which will facilitate users with a new channel of booking e—tickets in addition to the existing portal.
You can download the app for you Windows 8 Phone from here. Yo will not be able to use the app between 8AM and 12PM to make bookings.
To use the app, you must first generate a TPIN by logging onto www.irctc.co.in. The TPIN will be generated for your registered phone number and the bookings should be made through the registered phone number.
With the launch of IRCTC App on Windows 8 for train travellers, the booking of e-tickets is expected to increase considerably.

IRCTC has booked 135 lakh e-tickets at an average of 4.34 lakh each day in August this year against a total of 123 lakh e-tickets at an average of 3.99 lakh daily in the same period last year, registering an increase of about 10 per cent in booking.
