Somewhere along the line all of us have experienced a slow running PC. Before you throw your computer away, try these 3 quick tips to increase the speed of your PC.
*Scan Your PC -- Adware, Spyware and system viruses can cause chaos to your PC's performance. Your PC usually gets infected with malware by downloading corrupted files from the internet or by means of memory devices, such as flash drives and external hard drives that are infected with the specific malware. The first thing to do when faced with a slow PC is to use an anti-virus to scan for any infections.
*Manage Your Start-up Programs-- One of the main causes of PCs booting up slowly is due to the various programs that load when your system starts up. These programs are represented by the icons one sees in the taskbar in the bottom right corner of the screen. Some of the most common programs that you might find doing this are: Google Talk, Windows Messenger, Adobe Reader etc. If you are not longer using some of these programs or you do not need them load at start-up, you should disable them from loading due to the fact that they are only slowing your machine down.
*Optimize Your Internet -- Your PC's temporary internet files folder, also known as web cache, stores all of the downloads you have made such as movies, software or music. This folder can swell in size over time using up space that could be used by other programs that require it. Increasing the size of free space in the temporary internet files folder often results in an increase in processing performance. Therefore you should delete your temporary internet files on a regular basis.
